Crocosaurus Cove, Mitchell Street

Crocs & Sarongs Cocktail Function : Tuesday 19th August 6 - 8:30pm

The Coast to Coast conference is holding one of the first functions in the new Crocosaurus Cove during the conference, a Crocs & Sarongs Cocktail Function cocktail function on Tuesday evening. The project is currently still under construction and due to open mid-season 2008.

[March Construction Report] The structures of 5 of the 7 massive Crocodile pens have been completed and are now being worked on by specialist ‘rock builders’ brought in from interstate. This process is one of the most exciting stages as we can see these formidable concrete structures, modeled on NT rock formations, being turned into the finished animal pens on a daily basis. Imported super acrylic panels are ready to be installed which will further enhance the ‘finished look’ of the facilities and other specialist teams are commissioning the state of the art life support systems in the back of house.

Along with our 2 story fresh water aquarium stocked with turtles, freshwater Crocs and various fish species relevant to the waters of the NT, ‘The worlds largest display of Australian reptiles’ will be another major draw card for visitors to the attraction. The enormous air conditioned 1st floor reptile section will house 11 Goanna species, Frogs, Skinks, Dragons and beautiful Geckos. The exhibit will consist of both diurnal and nocturnal animals found in the tropical ‘Top End’ and Kimberley regions of Northern Australia and will also show one of the worlds most venomous land snakes through to the rarest of Top End pythons.
